NIGERIA spared a thought for its founding fathers Sunday.The Independence Tower –an 18-metre high monument with its four sides emblazoned with four bronze images of four prominent nationalists – was unveiled in Lagos.
The ceremony brought back memories of this country’s independence 50 years ago. It was on that spot at the Tafawa Balewa Square on Lagos Island that the Union Jack was lowered.
